La série Urbanitées utilise un néologisme pour nommer des images issues de l’univers urbain. La ville où nous vivons, son altérité première, sa variabilité infinie nous semble familière mais il s’agit de représenter ce qui est, sans être vraiment vu en tant que tel. Les à-côtés de notre environnement citadin en quelque sorte, qui en constitue une bonne part néanmoins. Que voyons nous de la ville ? Quelques façades conçues pour être vues, quelques perspectives, quelques  signes… Rien en fait de ce qui fait la maille du tissu urbain. La ville est faite de ces mille riens qui constituent le ciment liant les constructions.

  Urbanitées donne à voir de la ville le non-signifiant, le presque invisible. La non-architecture en quelque sorte. Néanmoins le traitement photographique de ces à-côtés  s’attache à mettre en place  une harmonie entre fond et forme afin de transformer une forme de banalité en une composition adaptée à une exigence photographique.

 

  The Urbanitées series uses a neologism to name images from the urban universe. The city where we live, its primary otherness, its infinite variability seems familiar to us and it is a question of representing what is, without really being seen as such. The side of our urban environment in a way, which is a good part nonetheless. Wwhat do we see of the city? A few facades designed to be seen, a few perspectives, a few signs ... Nothing in fact that makes the mesh of the urban fabric. The city is made up of the thousand things that make up the cement that binds buildings together.

Urbanitées shows the city as meaningless, almost invisible. Non-architecture in a way. Nevertheless, the photographic treatment of these side-by-sides endeavors to establish a harmony between background and form in order to transform a form of banality into a composition adapted to a photographic requirement.
